Publication Planning via Drag&Drop

With the publication planning editor, structures and content can be planned using drag&drop. In addition to direct access to product data from the PIM system, there is also access to content that has no direct product reference: global text modules, publication-specific texts or documents from the Digital Asset Manager. The specific information of a publication structure can also be maintained in multiple languages.

Layout Parameters

Layout parameters, which can be flexibly stored in the system, can be used to define not only publication content and structures, but also information on the display in the output channel. Layouts bundle individual parameters. As soon as the layouts are assigned to a chapter, a section or a publication element, values can be stored for the parameters. In manual typesetting, these layout definitions help the DTP user to efficiently and effectively set the product information in corresponding templates. For publication processes with a high degree of automation, these layouts and parameters can control the processes. This makes CMP an extremely flexible and efficient tool.

Page and Sequence Planning

In CMP, a publication can be structured in chapters and sections as desired. The planning of stretch- or page-oriented catalogs is supported.

 

With page-oriented planning, the publication planner can determine exactly on which page in the catalog the selected products are positioned.

 

With the sequence or flow oriented method, the contents are also planned in chapters and sections. However, the sections stand for catalog sections and not for individual pages. In practice, this process model is often used in combination with publication processes with a high degree of automation.
