Dealing with Classifications and Legal Requirements

Today, product data must be aligned to specific target groups. On the other hand, there are cross-company industry standards and legal regulations to be observed. Product classifications such as ETIM, UNSPSC, eCl@ss or profiCl@ss need to be taken into account, labeling requirements implemented and safety regulations such as the European Directive 2014/34/EU (ATEX) fulfilled. Manufacturers must be able to provide such qualified information. Traders, on the other hand, must have the ability to transfer the product data supplied to stationary and/or digital distribution channels with the least possible effort.


We help you to structure these comprehensive standards in parallel in the PIM and to import or export them with the help of convenient mappings. For example, mappings between ETIM 5,6 and 7 can be created quickly or entire classification systems can be assigned via rules (e.g. ETIM to eCl@ss). In addition, you get transparency about features that have to be labelled and necessary, country-specific regulations such as REACH or RoHS, which you can store directly on the respective articles.

If one thinks of topics such as IoT or Industry 4.0, products today carry more and more digital information over the entire product life cycle.
